As the war in Ukraine enters its 10th month, artists have spent time raising money for the country as it battles Russian forces. One of the latest creatives to fundraise via their work is the elusive street artist Banksy. Working with the Legacy of War Foundation, he has created a limited-edition screen print to help aid the international charity’s mission to provide support to civilians affected by the conflict.

The 50-edition print features a mouse that has tried clawing its way up the side of a box marked “Fragile” only to lose its grip and slide down, leaving a trail of claw marks behind. (Banksy makes the marks using a pizza cutter.) The piece will be signed and numbered and comes float mounted in a wood frame. Banksy is covering the costs so all of the proceeds from the sale will help fund supplies for the Legacy of War team in Ukraine.

“In Ukraine I saw a Legacy of War team sweep in and provide medical attention, heaters, fresh water and a friendly face to some very desperate people in a bombed out building,” Banksy said, referring to the recent stencils he painted in the country. “They also lent me one of their ambulances to work from, which turned out to be extremely useful when an angry babushka found me painting on her building and called the Police. I feel the least I should do is raise enough money to replace the number plates on the ambulance I hotted up.”

The fundraising prints are limited to one per person and cost £5,000 (plus applicable taxes). If you’d like the chance to purchase one, register on the Legacy of War website before Friday, December 16 at noon GMT.
